Messy Connections – The Canadian Messy Church Conference

October 15, 2020 @ 1:00 pm – October 18, 2020 @ 2:00 pm America/Toronto Timezone
Transcona Memorial United Church
209 Yale Ave W, Winnipeg, MB R2C 1T9

Messy Connections brings together Messy Church teams as well as those interested in launching Messy Church in a four-day conference with Messy Church founders and leaders. The conference will be an interactive, energized, musical, and inspired gathering that will connect you with other leaders and with your own learning in Messy Church.

Messy Connections will bring international, national and local Messy Church leaders to Winnipeg, and to Transcona Memorial United Church, the host venue. Our leaders include UK guests Lucy Moore (founder of Messy Church), Jill Phipps (International Messy Vintage Coordinator) and Stephen Fischbacher (founder of Fischy Music).

One of the conference goals is to explore Messy Church as a part of the means of reconciliation with Indigenous peoples: you will be part of a focused session on Indigenous Messy Church and will have a guided tour of the Canadian Museum for Human Rights.

We will also highlight possibilities for local Messy Church ministries with workshops on developing Messy Church themes, Messy Church food, Messy Church music, and ‘Messy Science’. There will also be time for you to connect with one another informally to share ideas and experiences including at Idea Exchange on Messy Christmas and Messy Easter.

This conference will be valuable whether you are new to Messy Church and Messy Vintage and want learning opportunities, or whether you are experienced in these and want deepening opportunities.

The conference aims to be a connecting point for people and for ministry.

There are several hotels in the area including a new Best Western Premier Winnipeg East and Super 8 Winnipeg East. If hotel costs are prohibitive please be in touch with the organizers directly through to see if billets are available.

The cost for the Conference is $185. Please register early, as space is limited.
